The Hope
When water is scarce during the dry season in Tanzania, women walk long distances to collect water in buckets for cleaning, cooking and bathing. This water is usually contaminated with e-coli, causing disease and dysentery. Recent research shows that rain water collection in water tanks is the surest way to get clean and consistent water for home use. Partners 4 Hope Tanzania hopes to purchase 100 – 10,000 liter tanks in 2020-2021. Through private sponsorship and grants, we are confident that we can help to provide sustainable living for many families through the Water-4-Life Project.
The Story
The Water-4-Life Project was created in 2016 in response to women in Tanzania asking for assistance to purchase 10,000 liter water tanks for home use. Through private sponsorships and our annual Concert for Hope, Partners 4 Hope Tanzania has been able to assist over 72 families and three villages with water tanks. During the dry season, each tank is connected to a water reservoir which brings clean water to individual tanks. During the rainy season, water is collected in the tank for daily use. For the first time, these villages have access to clean water throughout the year.
